Influence of power transients from gain-clamped EDFA on optical receiver BER performance

摘要
It is found that the down-shoot portion of power transients from gain-clamped EDFAs is the major cause which deteriorates the receiver bit error ratio, even in systems free of fiber nonlinearity and OSNR degradation. Influence on 10Gb/s system is more serious than 2.5Gb/s system.
