On Transparency of Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Middle East

The opacity of the sovereign wealth funds is one of the hot issues. Demand for transparency of the SWF in the Middle East has been discussed when they play a more and more important role in global capital market. By reviewing researches on transparency of the funds in the region, it is revealed that lack of transparency of the funds in the region calls for change, However significant improvement has also been achieved in recent years with the joint efforts of international institutions, amongst which IFSWF commits to effectively implementing the Santiago Principles for SWFs and serves as a positive start for that commitment.
