摘要
Objective: analyze the hospitalizations prevalence for Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions (ACSCs) and its main causes in elderly according to the healthy macro regions in Santa Catarina State. Methods: this is a descriptive ecological study where were picked Hospitalizations System data (SIH - DATASUS). Results: in the study period, there were 262.104 hospitalizations of elderly for ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions in Santa Catarina. The most frequent diseases were Heart Failure Lung Diseases, Cerebrovascular Diseases, Angina and Diabetes Mellitus. The regions from the state that had more hospitalizations were the South and West. However, it was found that there was a decrease in the total number of elderly hospitalizations during the study period, suggesting a good resolution of primary health care in the State. Conclusion: the ACSCs in elderly is relevant when it is compared to the total number of hospitalizations made by the Unified Health System, in this population, in the state of Santa Catarina.
