Magnetic properties of the La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 polycrystalline under the pressure

摘要
In this work, we observed that the pressure has different influence on the magnetic properties of La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 in different temperature regions. At the ambient pressure, La0.9Ca0.1MnO3 exhibits a ferromagnetic transiton at the Curie temperature (T-c) of 191 K and a canted-antiferromagnetic transiton at 68 K. Above T-c, the pressure enhances the antiferromagnetic coupling of ferromagnetic clusters with the concomitant variation of anisotropy. Around T-c, the pressure suppresses the large Jahn-Teller distortion, linearly increasing T-c with the pressure coefficient of 15.9 K/GPa and simultaneously increasing the magentization. But the pressure reduces the magnetization below T-c due to the pressure-enhanced Jahn-Teller distortion and the interparticle dipolar interaction. Through analyses, it can be concluded that the pressure effects depend on the distortion degree of the MnO6 octahedra in different temperature regions.
