Molecular biology, has been influenced tremendously by recent technological advancements in miniaturization and automation. One consequence has been the development of robust and sensitive methods to analyze gene expression. The ability, to evaluate systematically, the expression of every, mammalian gene is now, technically, feasible. The methods available for gene expression profiling, mid their application hi cardiovascular research, are the topics of this review. (Trends Cardiovasc Med 2001; 11:49-54).
