摘要
This paper proposes model predictive control (MPC) of real and reactive power of a single-phase grid-connected voltage-sourced converter (VSC). MPC is proposed as an alternative to the conventional PWM control in the finite control set-based scheme. Compared to the conventional PWM control, the proposed MPC provides faster transient response and lower ripple in the steady-state response. It also provides overcurrent protection without using a separate protection device. The proposed finite control set-based model predictive control (FCS-MPC) uses a cost function minimization algorithm without using a modulator, which enables inclusion of other optimization criteria. The effectiveness of the proposed FCS-MPC structure is validated via real-time simulation case studies using OPAL-RT.
