Due to the high production rate of light mesons in J/psi decays, the sample of 13 x 10(9) J/psi events accumulated at BESIII offers a unique laboratory for investigating light meson decays, especially for 77 and eta' decays. In this paper, several recent progresses on eta' decays at BESIII are introduced, including the first direct measurement of the absolute branching fractions of five dominant eta' decay modes, the search for eta' decay and the search for eta' -> pi(0)pi(0)pi(0)pi(0) decay.
