摘要
In the present research work, the influence of three friction stir processing (FSP) parameters i.e., shoulder size (/), rotational speed (x) and traverse speed (v) on mechanical properties viz. ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and microhardness measured in horizontal (HHV) and vertical (VHV) directions is investigated. Two levels of each FSP parameter are considered and eight experiments as per Taguchi's L8 orthogonal array (OA) were conducted. Multi-response optimization is carried out using standard deviation (SD) based COPRAS MCDM method. Further, analysis of mean (ANOM) is performed to determine optimum setting of the FSP parameters and Pareto ANOVA is employed to determine the significant parameters. From the results, it is found that Phi = 17 mm, omega = 355 rpm and v = 80 mm/min yields the optimum multi-responses. In addition, it is also observed that tool rotational speed significantly affects the multi-response. The optimal result is also validated using confirmatory test. Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
