Channel polymerization of diacetylene: Effect of synthesis conditions

摘要
The methods of synthesis of desoxycholic acid ("host")-diacetylene ("guest") inclusion compounds with subsequent spontaneous polymerization of the monomer "guest" in "host" channels with varying composition of the system at the stage of component loading were considered. The study of parent compounds and synthesis products by the methods of thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy demonstrated that the initial conditions affect the synthesis of the polymer having an identity period of a molecular chain of nearly 4.9 angstrom. It was shown that if the synthesis is carried out with the use of the "guest"-"host" binary system, a higher polymer yield may be achieved than that in the case of the synthesis involving substitution of one "guest" by another.
