摘要：
Indoor gamma dose rate measurement using TLD has been performed in the East Coast of Tamilnadu. Totally, 56 places have been chosen for the study. Four TLD measurements have been performed throughout a year (July 1994-November 1995), covering four different seasons to find the annual effective dose. The average annual gamma dose has been found to be 1332.4 mu Gy (.) y(-1). The annual effective dose to the public residing along the east coast region of Tamilnadu is 1.3 mSv (.) y(-1). The calculated gamma dose from TLD and the observed gamma dose from the environmental survey meter have been compared. (c) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
