摘要
No previous anti-air missile design has ever fully taken advantages of Earth's gravity, the atmosphere and hypersonic flight. The study presents three novel designs of very long range anti-air missile systems: the first is the Very Long Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VLRSAM) system, the second is the Very Long Range Air-to-Air Missile (VLRAAM) system, and the third is the Arbitrarily Long Range Orbit-to-Air Missile (ALROAM) system. Facing very long range targets, these designs all have a short response time; use a path of low air resistance, light and short missile body, and low observability; they work against a long distance target with a very high average velocity, and a very large no-escape zone. They have an unprecedentedly high kill rate against high-speed high-altitude aircraft, and are highly flexible in air theater operation. Both VLRSAM and VLRAAM have excellent cost-benefit ratios, better than that of any previously designed long-range anti-air missile systems.
