摘要
We report on the Women Mentorship Program (VVMP), a new program led by students at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ). The branch campus offers degrees in engineering and has an unusually high female student population. The program aims to support and ease the transition of recent female students between high -school and university life which is known to be challenging. The program intends to develop a partnership between junior or senior female students with freshman (female) students and have them share information, knowledge, insights, skills, information, and perspective beyond the traditional classroom relationship and to help them reach the personal and professional growth they desire until they reach their full potential. Through this program, the mentors will have the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills and the mentees will benefit from interacting with new professional networks, have an understanding of how TAMUQ operates, and enhance enthusiasm for work, all that can increase confidence.
