A new type of insulated pipe model and pipe support model based on the current situation of long-distance steam transportation heating network projects were established in this article. The influences of pipe support, top insulation cover, and reflective layer on pipe insulation performance were studied through experiment and numerical simulation. The results show that the heat loss through the pipe support accounts for nearly 20% of the overall heat loss of the pipe. The pipe support has a greater impact on the pipeline model of DN200 compared to the pipeline models of DN300 and DN500. The extra top insulation cover can reduce heat loss by 22.77%. The reduction of heat loss caused by reflective layer of aluminum-foil-fiberglass cloth is 8.9%.
