Spin polarization transfer in the ((p)over-right-arrow,(n)over-right-arrow) and ((He)over-right-arrow,(t)over-right-arrow) reactions

摘要
The spin polarization transfer coefficients D-nn(theta = 0 degrees) for the intermediate energy charge exchange ((p) over right arrow,(n) over right arrow) and ((3)<(He)over right arrow>,(t) over right arrow) reactions leading to giant resonances in the continuum region are calculated, based on the antisymmetric distorted wave impulse approximation approach including the continuum effect. Results are reported for calculations performed for the spinflip 0(-), 1(+), 2(-), 3(+) resonances, for reactions on C-12 and Zr-90 targets at incident energies of 200 and 300 MeV/A. Some subtle physical effects on the D-nn(theta = 0 degrees)-values are discussed, when the 1(+) Gamow-Teller resonance state is populated. The dominant contribution to the cross section in this case comes from the direct l(t) = 0 amplitude, which leads to a D-nn(theta = 0 degrees)-value of -1/3. The deviation of the value from -1/3 originates from the l(t) = 2 components in both direct and exchange amplitudes, and we discuss various physical effects such as nuclear structure, reaction Q-value, two-body effective interaction, and distortion effects on these l(t) = 2 amplitudes.
