摘要
Hardware and software reliability engineering have many concepts with unique terminology and many mathematical and statistical expressions. Basically, the approach is to apply mathematics and statistics to model past failure data to predict future behavior of a component or system. Firstly, the difference between hardware and software reliability are presented. Secondly, the software reliability models and requirements for using the models are studied. Finally, methods to prevent software errors are given.
