摘要
Sjogren's syndrome is a multisystemic disease of still unknown aetiology. The inflammatory and autoimmune mechanisms can involve almost every organ system. Symptoms can be categorised into exocrine (salivary glands) and non-exocrine dysfunctions involving salivary glands, mucosa, eye, skin, pancreas, kidneys, pulmonary system, gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, joints, muscle, and nervous system. Diagnosis of a primary or secondary Sjogren's syndrome is based on a combination of ophthalmological and oral cavity symptoms together with histopathological findings, involvement of salivary glands, and specific autoantibodies.
