摘要
In this paper, we measured the polar anchoring energy for vertically aligned liquid crystal cells with the high electric field technique at different temperatures. The experimental results show that the polar anchoring energy decreases with the increment of temperatures. Within the experimental errors, the anchoring energy of rubbed VA cells is as much as that of non-rubbed VA cells at the normal temperature. But this is not the case at the high temperatures: the anchoring energy of rubbed VA cells is larger than that of non-rubbed VA cells. These experimental results are in good agreement with the tendency of theoretical results.
