摘要
Coronary artery revascularization needs in patients with coronary stenotic lesions and myocardial ischemia caused by Kawasaki disease (KD). One option for coronary revascularization is coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). CABG using internal thoracic artery (ITA) grafts have been performed since 1983 in this population. The Japanese experience of CABG for KID coronary sequelae was reported in 2002. The results of grafting using the ITA were good in patients equal to or more than 12 years old, but were less satisfactory in patients under 12 years old. We reviewed our results of CABG using the ITA, focusing on graft patency in the < 12 years old patients. Applying correct indications for CABG was very important for good patency of the grafts. Appropriate indication of percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty for anastomotic stenosis in ITA grafts greatly contributes to the patency of the grafts after KID in small children. Successful CABG improves the quality of life more than 20 years in this population.
