摘要
Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) is a distributed object model for the Java platform. It serves as middleware for Java applications distributed among several hosts. With the growing acceptance of the Java language and with the growing need for interaction between distributed units, RMI is becoming an important technology. Since high speed ATM networks are entering the LAN domain, there if a high need for studying the performance of RMI over ATM, especially, for high performance applications and for time critical applications. This paper, gives performance results of RMI over ATM. We investigate latency and bandwidth for different data types and compare the results to RMI overconventional Ethernet.
