The majority of approaches to Illuminations strive to identify what the Rimbaldian prose poem thinks, whereas we should be asking how it thinks. Indeed, thought is frequently deployed as part of a physics of ideas, setting into motion a set of material figurations of thought and phenomena related to the objectification of ideas, whose dynamics are as important as their substance.
