Field clinical trials are an essential part of the process for bringing a new pharmaceutical product on to the market. Pharmaceutical companies increasingly need to recruit veterinary practitioners who are willing to participate as field investigators in such trials. In this article, Maria Muniz and Adrian Cox explain the role of the field investigator within the structure of a clinical trial.
