摘要
This paper assesses the impact of climate shocks measured by farmers' perceptions on the inefficiency of agricultural plots in Burkina Faso. To do so, we applied the non-parametric m-order efficiency model to a set of more than 21,000 agricultural plots, of which more than two thirds are classified as organic plots and one third as conventional plots. The results show that climate shocks have a positive impact on plot inefficiency with the exception of millet plots. The effect of climate shock on plot inefficiency varied by region. Plots located in the Boucle du Mouhoun and South-West regions are the most affected by climate shocks. When analyzed by agro-climatic zone, we find that all agro-climatic zones, with the exception of the Sahelian zone, are affected regardless of the crop.
