A new approach for expert systems design

摘要
The paper offers a design method and a prototype for an expert system (ES) used in engineering design. This ES is currently tested in mechanical engineering design specific on gears. The reader can find some theoretical aspects describing how the design of this ES is accomplished and some implementation considerations for dat acquisition module and reasoning strategy useful for expert system designers. Finally some conclusions outline the importance and utility of obtained results as implementation of an AI tool.
