Development of Smart City in Macau SAR of China

Smart city is the new trend to transform a country or a city to be more efficient, transparent, convenient, sustainable development, comfortable environment and information sharing between public entities, private entities and citizens. In a certain degree, the process of transforming smart city needs various factors, such as mutual network, Information, Communication, Technology (ICT), also, needs to collect datas from real practices in order to form such as smart transportation, smart tourism, smart education, etc. This paper will state out the smart city planning situation implemented in Macau SAR of China currently. It will state out the cooperation channel between government and private sectors. This paper will provide successful examples implemented in other country or city. It will explain what factors and measures should be input to form a smart city and will explain why it is vital to transform into a smart city. Finally, this paper will make use of the successful examples to integrate the useful factors for Macau SAR of China to follow and implement.
