This paper presents partial results of the research whose main objective was to analyze the impact of considering the learning styles theory, in the designing process about physics teaching, in a regular classroom in a public high school in Bogota. The research was quantitative to the identification of learning styles of the students and qualitative analyzing data, which were collected from the application of the teaching strategy. For identification of learning styles, we used the "Test Honey-Alonso about Learning Styles" (CHAEA). The data was taken and analyzed from the perspective of discourse analysis finding until now that the students of the sample have all learning styles with different levels of presence. We also found that when introducing cognitive learning theories, the teaching objectives of physics must be reconsidered, which offers new ways of viewing the learning processes. We can also realize that it is an effective strategy for the characterization of the students and the design of the discourse in the class in consequence with the type of students.
