In-line fiber-optic system for depolarization process analysis

摘要
A detailed theoretical and experimental study of state of polarization distribution function approach is presented in this article. As a starting point theoretical description of this approach as well as coherence matrix models were shown. Next, the experimental system was introduced and based on it depolarization process for both model was presented. Finally, the experimental results confirming nonlinear character of the light degree of polarization degradation was shown. The commercially available semiconductor laser diode operating below a laser action threshold has been used in this experiment.
