摘要
3D coupled backward and forward deformation of geological layers is a new step in basin modelling. This problem can be treated with a mechanical or a kinematic approach. Because of the difficulties met with the mechanical approach, the kinematic approach is more often used. The kinematic model described here allows a geologically acceptable path to be built, which takes into account an incremental evolution of time. To obtain a better description of 3D geometries, the model uses a full hexaedric discretization. The discrete neutral surface of each layer is used to perform the flexural slip deformation.
