摘要
This research proposes an area method to produce a vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) backbone topology. The road network is partitioned into a grid of cells sized based on transmission range, and a vehicle in each cell providing the most stable network topology is selected as a backbone node. The reliability of the backbone is based on the link quality and the stability, where stability is based on how long the topology will be in effect given the time vehicles spend in each cell.
