Syntheses and structural characterization of σ-/π-aryloxo cobalt(II) complexes and radical aryloxo sodium complex

摘要
Reaction of anhydrous CoCl2 with NaOAr (OAr =2,6-di-tert-butylphenoxo or 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenoxo) in THF at room temperature afforded [Na(THF)(6)][Co(OArH)(3)] (1) and [Na(THF)(5.33)][Co(OArMe)(3)] (2) with Co-O(Ar) sigma-coordination. The same reactions, proceeded first in THE and subsequently in hot toluene, led to the formation of a radical aryloxo sodium complex (3), as well as Co(pi-OArMe)(2) (4). Four complexes were characterized by X-ray crystallography. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
