摘要
In the evaluation of the osteoarthritic knee magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows the precise destinct visualization of hyaline cartilage defects including the changes in the underlying bone when a destinct imaging technique is used. Cartilage defects can be classified into one of 5 stages (0-4) according to arthroscopic classification. In this article different stages of hyaline cartilage defects of the knee joint are demonstrated. The precise imaging of cartilage defects allows a better planning of treatment in the early stages of osteoarthritis and the postoperative evaluation of reconstructive procedures of the hyaline cartilage.
