Industrial wastes as raw materials for tile making

摘要
A study was made to predict the suitability of Cu-slag as a flux for the production of sintered ceramic tiles. The effect of the slag percentage and its mode of addition on the physical and mechanical properties have been studied. The sintered bodies phase composition and microstructure are also followed up. The study showed that sintered ceramic tiles having high bulk density, considerable low firing temperature and reasonable tensile strength could be prepared by firing batches containing 30 wt.% Cu-slag for 1 h. at 1175degreesC.
