Stator Flux Trajectory Control combined with Optimized Pulse Patterns for Interior Permanent Magnet Machines

摘要
In medium-voltage drives the switching frequency is usually limited to several 100 Hz. Especially in high speed operation, conventional pulse width modulation techniques lead to a high harmonic content in the phase currents. One approach to minimize the total harmonic distortion (THD) is to apply offline calculated Optimized Pulse Patterns (OPPs). However, combining OPPs with commonly used control approaches like field oriented control (FOC) significantly limits the dynamic performance of the system. This work investigates simulatively a stator flux trajectory based control approach for interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs). The presented control algorithm allows the online modification of the precalculated switching angles. The focus of this work is the identification of the particularities of optimized pulse patterns and the stator flux trajectory control for permanent magnet machines in order to evaluate the feasibility of the studied control for this machine type.
