Active teaching learning methodologies in Information Competence actions: university libraries as a learning space

摘要
Considering the University Library as a learning space and that the librarian must monitor the teaching and learning processes and its applicability in reference services, that is, in the development of Information Competence as an integral part of the pedagogical environment, this article has as an objective to reflect the potential of active learning methodologies for the development of information competence in the context of the University Library, therefore, it is a bibliographic, descriptive and exploratory research, with a qualitative approach. From the bibliographical analysis, the benefits of working with active methodologies were evidenced, since the activities that are developed with the application of some of the methodologies stimulate student interaction and engagement, meeting the proposals for aspects of competence in information. Concluding that professional librarians need to develop pedagogical skills for the applicability of active teaching and learning methodologies in their information competence programs aligned with the educational proposals offered in the classrooms of HEIs, efficiently and seeking to improve their profile, always in line with the changes that have been taking place in the provision of education.
