摘要
Intelligent tutoring systems, though quite successful in a variety of applications, are typically limited with respect to the generality of their problem-solving methods and in their communication capabilities. Aiming at exploring the prerequisites for future, more powerful tutoring systems, we present techniques for representing knowledge within such a system that allow for reasoning about more complex problem-solving situations and that enable flexible communication in natural language. The domain of application is teaching a student how to prove mathematical theorems.
