Smart 4G mobiles: A user centric approach

摘要
The new developments in 4G mobile technology and Software Defined Radio will bring with them increased complexity in using such devices in the face of multiple network choices, location-based information, varying Quality of Service, and a range of software applications. In order for the user to be able to easily manage such complexity, adaptive user profiles are offered as one solution. This paper describes the work being done to develop such profiles, and details current thinking about these profiles and associated research areas within the IST-SCOUT project. Artificial Intelligence techniques are investigated in the implementation of the user profiles as a possible means of reducing the complexity for the user.
