摘要
NaCl treatments of CdTe/CdS solar cells are of interest because of the possibility that group I ions may enhance photovolatic performance. In this work the influence of NaCl on the microstructure of both CBD CdS films and CSS CdTe/CdS cells was studied by AFM, SEM and GIXRD. Morphological and microstructural changes to the films occurring on heating are described together with optical transmission and device results. Although addition of high levels of NaCl degrades the device performance, evidence is presented which suggests that impurity diffusion from glass substrates is beneficial.
