The Role of Academic Libraries in Value Re-Orientation Among Youths

This paper focuses on ways through which academic libraries can help in value re-orientation among youths. It looked at the concept of values, types of values and why value re-orientation is important to youths. It also deals with the importance of academic libraries and ways academic libraries can help in value re-orientation of youths. The paper recommends, among others, that for academic libraries to inculcate good values in their clients,, their services must be based on access and equitable service to all - the privileged, underprivileged and disabled. All must have access to the library services without waste of time. Library collections must also reflect the diverse needs of its users. In so doing, youth imbibe the culture of tolerance and respect for all.
