From "Whose Heritage" to "Heritage Choice": Based on Urban Historic Block Renewal

Urban historic block renewal refers to the social practice relation of various relevant interest subjects and is reflected in a process of consciously choosing heritage. This paper profoundly rethinks the space subject and space object of the historic block and points out the historical block should be based on heritage authenticity. The author also points out that historic block renewal should be based on the principles of authenticity, constructing the spirit of the place. In this process, the integrated conservation is essential as well as the participation of citizens, the perfection of laws and restriction of powers.
