摘要
The paper presents the operation possibility of a five-phase induction motor drive for healthy conditions, and for open phase faults. This includes the investigation of the mechanical torque and current characteristics of the machine during the healthy and fault operation. Moreover, a spectrum analysis of the speed estimation was performed, to investigate the impact of the fault to the drive. The extracted knowledge of the frequency analysis allowed to implement an open phase fault detection method without the need of additional zero current detection algorithms.
