摘要
This paper presents a fault diagnosis and the improved fault-tolerant control for an open fault in the five-phase induction motor (IM) driving system. The five-phase IM has an advantage of the fault-tolerant control owing to its increased number of phases. The open fault patterns of one phase are analyzed in this paper. In addition, the effective fault diagnosis method is proposed in accordance with the analyzed results. When the open fault occurs in the one switch of IM driving system, the proposed fault-tolerant control is used to operate IM using the remaining healthy phases. Experiment and simulation results are provided to validate the proposed technique.
