The purpose of the statistical methods used to evaluate the European projects is to quantitatively manage the project process in order to achieve the project objective together with the project quality and performance objectives. This paper is based on the research experience of the TAPESTRY (Travel Awareness Publicity and Educational Strategies) project Consortium, gathered in the Common Assessment Framework Guide for Case Study Partners. The project is quantitatively managed using quality and performance process objectives. We may consider all the different elements of the project design and implementation process needed to investigate. For each of the ten project elements described above there are "descriptors" or "indicators", as tools which will enable to apply the statistical methods in order to asses and evaluate the project, defined in the The statistical methods should be following the project measures before the project implementation, in order to support the project design, during the project in order to monitor day-to-day the implementation activities and after the project finished, in order to asses its effectiveness, results and limits. Any assessment you make should take account of both your control study (where used) and the external factors which you have recorded during your project. You may not have met your project objectives when you took at them in isolation (e.g. there may not have been a reduction in the number of school children driven to school). However, your control may show an increase in the number of children traveling to school by car. If your project shows that there has been no change or only a slight increase, then it could have been successful at stopping an upwards trend. TAPESTRY project main aim was to evaluate the efficiency of an information/marketing campaign applied in order to promote public transport within the pilgrims visiting the city of of Iasi City each year (more than I million). The city of Iasi was a follower city for Tapestry project. The results of your "effectiveness" assessment in Iasi will be used to compare many projects aiming similar areas and to see what sort of projects are more effective.
