Novel W-band Passband Filters Using the E-plane Planar Resonators

This paper presents novel W-hand passband filters using E-plane planar resonators in standard waveguide. Rectangular ring resonator, C-shaped resonator and central folded stripline resonator (CFSR) are used to design the W-band filters. The three different types of resonator induce transmission zeroes at the appropriate frequencies below or above the required passband to improve the selectivity and out-of-band rejection performance. Simulated studies of three filter configurations are carefully conducted to demonstrate the proposed design method.
