摘要
Although the use of radial artery access is uncommon in peripheral endovascular procedures, recent studies have suggested it can be favorable. These studies are reviewed in this article. The research examined suggests that radial access is associated with a decreased complication rate, as well as no occurrence of critical limb ischemia, hand amputations, or stroke. Furthermore, the utilization of a smaller sheath, as well as a more superior closure device such as a transradial band, has been proven to further remedy some of the complications which may occur. In cases in which there are patients with lumbosacral spinal diseases and extensive bilateral femoral diseases, radial access is especially useful. Altogether, the studies reviewed propose the safety and efficacy of the use of radial artery access in peripheral vascular interventions.
