A sculptor for architects: The work of Angel Garcia

Angel Garcia was bora in Madrid and was a well-known sculptor Gat tor (it the beginning of the 20(th) Century. This artist has not been included vet in studios about art. He was pensioned in Rome and Pat-is, and he is the author of all the sculptural ornamentation of the Palacio de Communicaciones (Central Post Office) and also made the big caryatids oil the old Banco del Rio de la Plata in Madrid, among other important works. Although most of his best works are located on some of the magnificent buildings projected by Antonio Palacios, some of the principal architects wanted the contribution of Angel Garcia for their projects. It was a time of full relationship between Architecture and Sculpture.
