Aqueous solutions of gamma-irradiated solid table sugar were investigated for dosimetric purpose using the electrical conductivity method. It was found that the solution containing 20% (w/w) of sugar was the most sensitive to radiation. The variation of electrical conductivity of the all the solutions was found to increase linearly with absorbed dose in the range 1-300 kGy. Signal reproducibility, radiation dose response, signal stability and some parameters which can influence response have also been studied.
