摘要
This paper presents some issues in rehabilitation of degraded lands in Nepal through the use of a community forestry approach. The paper is based on the authors' experiences in implementing the ICIMOD1/IDRC project on 'Rehabilitation of Degraded Lands in Mountain Ecosystems Project' in a mid-hills district of Nepal. It examines some strengths and weaknesses of the current practices in community forestry in Nepal in relation to rehabilitation of degraded lands, but the paper also illustrates that it provides a very good legal framework for undertaking such activities.
