The relationship between manganese content in the liver and its concentration in the serum of cattle

The aim of the research was to compare the variability of the manganese concentration In serum and its contents in the liver of cattle. The blood and liver samples used in the experiments came from 21 cows, 15 heifers and 6 bulls kept for breeding. The research showed a statistically significant positive correlation between the contents of manganese in the liver and its concentration in serum (coefficient of correlation r(linear) = 0,6188 F< 0,001; r(unlinear) = 0,6384 p < 0,001). Tt proved that indications of the manganese contents in serum reflect the changes of its contents in the liver and it can be consider to he a good biochemical indicator of its deficiency amongst cattle.
