Study on free vibration of a curved continuous box-girder bridge model

摘要
Over the past three decades many numerical methods has evolved for the dynamic analysis of curved girder bridges. However, relatively few experimental studies have been conducted to investigate the dynamic behaviours of composite curved box-girder bridges. This paper describes the free vibration tests of a composite curved continuous box-girder bridge model with a single column as the middle support. The stiffness of the shear connectors was considered in the finite element analysis. The experimental results were subsequently verified by the finite element analysis. Discussions of the effects of the overall stiffness of shear connectors and the stiffness of the single middle column on the vibration characteristics of the bridge model are also presented.
