摘要
The design and fabrication of a miniature silicon backplane colour liquid crystal display (LCD) for use in head-mounted and projection display systems is discussed The display was developed on a UK collaborative programme (SLIMDIS) and has a 1024 x 768 away of pixels on a 12 mu m pitch, giving an active area of 12 x 9mm. The use of double metal planarization to produce a high pixel fill-factor and enhanced optical power handling is described
