Scalability and equilibrium of quality of service for high speed networks

摘要：
We revisit the notions of Quality of Service (QoS) and Effective Bandwidth (EB) in broadband networks from the point of view of scalability and equilibrium, borrowing notions from the theory of thermodynamics. We also look at how network resources could be utilized most efficiently in terms of equilibrium of resource allocation. Several routing schemes are proposed using the macroscopic and microscopic quantities devised.
